Ensure your QR code is at least 2x2 cm when printed. Higher resolution is better for scanning.
Maintain high contrast between foreground and background colors for better readability.
Keep your logo size under 30% of the QR code size to maintain scannability.
Use higher error correction levels (Q or H) when adding a logo or when the code might get damaged.
Leave sufficient white space around the QR code (included by default in our generator).
Always test your QR code with multiple devices before deploying it.
A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that can store data like URLs, text, and contact information. When scanned with a smartphone camera or QR reader app, it quickly provides access to the encoded information.
Most modern smartphones can scan QR codes directly through their camera app. Simply open your camera, point it at the QR code, and tap the notification that appears. For older devices, you may need to download a QR code scanner app.
The QR code itself cannot be changed after creation, but if you're linking to a URL, you can change the content at that URL. For example, if your QR code points to your website, you can update your website's content while using the same QR code.
For most uses, level 'M' (15%) or 'Q' (25%) is sufficient. If you're adding a logo or expecting the code to be used in challenging conditions, use level 'H' (30%). Level 'L' (7%) is only recommended for very clean environments.
For printed materials, the minimum recommended size is 2x2 cm (about 0.8x0.8 inches). The optimal size depends on the scanning distance: use 2.5 cm for close scanning (20 cm), 5 cm for medium distance (50 cm), and larger sizes for greater distances.
